Gifts for Rosie

The idea of this blog is to help people who want to buy gifts for Rosie with ideas for gifts, and to allow some coordination between people buying gifts for Rosie so that she does not end up with duplicates.

Rosie has expressed an interest in the following gifts:

Books. Rosie reads a lot, mostly fantasy and animal books at present, but her English teacher has asked that she tries to broaden her reading.

Archery. Rosie enjoys archery, and so might like membership of a local archery club and a course of archery lessons.

Horse-riding. Rosie loves horses and enjoys learning to ride them, but has now outgrown her helmet and riding boots.

Rosie has discovered computer games and has mentioned minecraft. This won't run on her computer, but there is a pocket edition that will probably work on her phone.

A wallet.

A penknife. Rosie has asked for this, I'm not convinced it's a good idea, but she's said she wants it for wood-carving, so perhaps a beginner's kit for that would be a better idea.

If you say in the comments that you have bought a particular gift than others will know not to buy it.

EDIT

Another thing we recall Rosie being interested in is a remote wildlife camera. This you can set up in the garden and it will take pictures when it detects movement, or at regular intervals, with either a wired connection back to the house, or a wireless one (more expensive).

Rosie has also been enjoying a subscription to BBC Wildlife magazine that has now finished (this is one of the places where she has found out about the remote wildlife cameras!)

EDIT AGAIN

Some more things that Rosie has asked for (I have left out pet requests as that is a matter for her mother to decide!):

* Any kind of hex bug things, e.g. hex bugs, habitats...

* Books, e.g. One Dog and His Boy by Eva Ibbotson.

* A nice set of colouring pencils.

* Anything to do with horses, other animals, mythical animals or nature.

* Bird feeding stuff.

Lastly but not least:

* Schleich horse models.
